Adamas, Milos
the challenge of 30 sqm.
In a quiet fold of Milos, this small dwelling unfolds like a tactile shell — compact, layered, and open to the sky. Conceived as a minimal vessel for summer inhabitation, the house organizes its functions vertically, with a sleeping mezzanine above a crafted oak interior. Below, the living space is defined by built-in gestures: cabinetry that becomes wall, bench that becomes bed, table that anchors the space.
Beyond the threshold, a walled courtyard becomes the heart of the project — a lush, introverted garden shaped by volcanic stone, oversized foliage, and dappled light. The architecture holds back, allowing shadow, texture, and vegetation to animate the domestic ritual.
A project of restraint and atmosphere, it speaks softly of Cycladic ancestry while embracing a more fluid, contemporary way of living outdoors.
